Yuliy Borisov took part in the business MIPIM 2014 program

Yuliy Borisov, the chief architect, the cofounder of UNK project, acted as the speaker at a seminar "Practice of the international architectural competitions as the mechanism of improvement of quality of development of city spaces", organized PROEstate Events together with NP "Russian Guild of Managing Directors and Developers" within the international MIPIM 2014 exhibition.

During the action the practice of carrying out competitions which has developed in the capital, world examples and in particular the necessity of such stages for authorities, developers and architects, criteria of  selection of objects, participants and jury and many other things were discussed.  Sergey Kuznetsov, the chief architect of the city, Kim Nielsen, the architect of 3XN, Aleksey Muratov, the director general of BC Strelka, Alyona Deryabina, the director general of "Don-Stroy Invest", Dmitry Aksenov, the chairman of the board of directors of RDI Group and Sergey Choban, the partner of architectural bureau Speech also acted as speakers of a seminar.

According to Yuliy Borisov, the correct organization of competition is very important: "I worked a lot in jury and observed different situations. It happens that the unreasoned technique of vote leads to terrible results simply because of the wrong mathematics. Therefore precompetitive work and development of criteria are so important. Let's say the contest committee considers that the winner building has to be memorable and estimates projects by this criterion. Or it has to be environmental and cheap and then projects are considered in these parameters. It is important to build hierarchy and to appropriate to each criterion the weight. Then there is a chance that the result will be good".
