21.05.2014

Today the fourth Moscow Biennale of Architecture and the 19th international exhibition of architecture and design of ARCH Moscow in the Central House of Artists on the Crimean bank opened its doors.
The ceremony of opening of the exhibition traditionally took place at the main entrance of the Central House of Artists. During this ceremony the chief architect of Moscow S. O. Kuznetsov, the president of the Union of architects of Russia A.V. Bokov, the first vice-president of the Union of the Moscow architects G. D. Sirota  and also curators of the Biennale addressed.

The UNK project was invited for participation in the curatorial program for the first time.
The main subject of the present Biennale is "Quarters". Here we presented the Dutch Quarter project. The purpose of this work was creation of available to citizens, the qualitative, power effective and environmentally friendly inhabited environment answering to high standards and possessing quality of social appeal, with the developed infrastructure and the constant contingent of inhabitants.

One of the main showrooms of the Central House of Artists is assigned to an exposition named "Competitions". It visually reflects the major tendencies in architectural and town-planning policy. In this section curators paid attention to the project of shopping center “Polezhaevsky”. The architectural idea in it is directed on creation of a memorable image of modern shopping center comfortable to surrounding building of the city. Thus facades of the mall possess a strict rhythm and plasticity, co-scale with surrounding buildings that allows the building to be integrated into environment organically.
The new building of NCCA was included in an exposition "ARCH catalogue". The building of NCCA is inseparably linked with the modern art and it is an architectural embodiment of this borderland, boundary space, a certain curtain behind which the answers to cultural questions interesting to us are hidden. The building and the impoundment with the space in front of it represent a uniform surface, the pure canvas ready to assume any creative experiments.

We remind that the exhibition takes place in Central House of Artists, the Crimean bank, 10 on May 21-25, 2014.
